I have a theory.
Whenever I play well, Squash loses, and whenever I suck all ass, we manage to win.
If I mail in my performances for the rest of the year, we should win the “whole thing” which I assume is some sort of beer-flavored prize.
Hmmm, seems to be my play as of late. Squash won tonight despite my “efforts.”
Squash returned to winning form tonight, eeking out a one point victory over Sugaar.
Squash lost tonight, and I played like utter crap. Sadly, I can’t even blame disc golf (as I used to) for screwing up my throws and my generally poor performance as of late, since I haven’t played disc golf since November.
Coop: “I think I had a girlfriend once who used to live around here.”
Will: “This is a pretty bad area.”
Coop: “Well, she was a pretty bad girlfriend.”
Squash lost tonight. It was pretty ugly, and I don’t want to talk about it.

This blog appears to be turning into the once-a-week ultimate update. Let me just quickly say that Squash lost again this week, but this time by a single point. This means we’ve clawed our way back up to Team yellow status from last year. Re-gelling as a team is proving to be hard, and while everyone seems to be trying, it’s just hard to force something like this, especially when it happened so spontaneously the first time.
I managed to injure my neck this week — don’t ask…no, really, DON’T ASK — so I was unable to actually play in tonight’s ultimate game. Being the team player that I am, I still went out to cheer on the team.
Not much to cheer about, I’m afraid. Instead I got to witness just how badly Squash got undone by the recent trades. I did what I could to coach and shout encouragement from the sidelines, but it seemed like we were very much back at square one from a team chemistry perspective. Since that was the stated goal of the league coordinator — destroying our team chemistry — I guess he met his quota.
We didn’t do ourselves any favors tonight with regards to the impending dismantling of our team. Squash finished out the pre-Xmas portion of the ultimate season with an on-field dismantling of Yellow acid Kool-aid experiment, to the tune of 30-8. For those of you scoring at home, that puts us in first place with a plus/minus of +44. Yes, we just doubled our already respectable plus/minus in a single game. That’s officially classified as a whimpering annihilation — I looked it up.

Squash lost last night, but only by slimmest of margins. By far the most impressive feat of the evening though was getting the entire team out to the Arrow & The Loon for post-game pints.
