Toy Library

In what is possibly the best non-bacon-related idea ever, the Centrepointe Children’s Drop-in Centre also runs a toy library. Toys can be checked out for a period of two weeks, which is probably longer than your child was going to remain interested in a given toy anyway.

  1. How is it this is not more popular? As you mention, this seems like one of the best ideas ever.

Of course, I’m not all that up on the child/toy area either. Let’s ask Walt. :)

  2. That was one of my favourite things as a kid, Orillia had one (still might, actually, but with two sets of local-ish grandparents, the last thing we needed was more toys).

The one difference was that our toy library had a large play area, so you could play with a bunch of kids and figure out which toy you really wanted to check out. none of this catalogue stuff! ;)
