Busy weekend in Azeroth

Busy, yet highly successful.

Ancient Sun often has trouble getting enough people together to properly run Zul’Gurub. As much fun as it is to kill the same two bosses over and over again, it does tend to get a little repetitive. We were once again short on numbers on Friday, so we ran Upper Blackrock Spire instead, and got me (and several others) attuned for Blackwing Lair. It was a much needed change of pace (for me), and was greatly appreciated.

Ancient Sun also belongs to a loose association called the Allied Guilds which functionally creates a larger pool of L60 player characters from which to draw for high-level instances. I jumped into my first Allied Guild instance run on Sunday (cocked-up raids in EP don’t count), and it was quite the experience.

These runs are most often (from what I hear) run by Mirax of Swords and Staves fame. Mirax and his compatriots lived up to their reputation: they behaved like fucking children in Vent. However, since it was mostly directed at each other, I was happy to let it slide, because they did keep things on point, and set a pretty brisk pace. What’s more, I got to see parts of ZG I hadn’t yet seen, downed two new (for me) bosses, and snagged some phat loot for myself in the process. We didn’t manage to down Hakkar, but not for lack of trying.

All in all, a successful weekend, and what will probably be my last hurrah in WoW for a while.
